Post Adoption Support
Post Adoption Support is an evolving focus of HopeFull Connections Adoption Services. We recognize that families need on-going support to help them deal with some of the challenges of parenting an older adopted child. Many of these children have experienced some form of trauma from abuse or neglect. Previously neglected or abused children who fail to receive all God intends for them may develop special needs or difficult behaviors. Monthly support groups and get-togethers help families connect with each other for the emotional support that they need. Workshops and seminars provide families with information on pertinent issues related to raising adopted children. Respite care services give adoptive parents and their children a break to rest and regroup. We have seen the difference that post adoption support can make in adoption placements being successful.

KIDS NIGHT OUT
Kid's Night Out is a respite event for adoptive and foster families hosted by The Sacred Portion Children's Outreach. It is offered on a quarterly basis, held on a Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Parents can drop off their children at The Commons, 1794 Baxter Lane East for an evening of fun while they take some time for themselves to relax, have a date with their spouse, or just enjoy quiet time at home. The children are served pizza and snacks, play games, do crafts and watch a movie towards the end of the evening. The volunteers who help with Kids Night Out are a mix of mature adults and college youth and have undergone background screening prior to volunteering. Parents and children alike look forward to this event which is offered at no cost to families.
EMPOWERED TO CONNECT CONFERENCE LIVE SIMULCAST
The Empowered to Connect Conference Live Simulcast takes place every year in April at multiple locations in Montana and across the nation. In an effort to help equip families, churches and professionals to better serve children impacted by foster care and adoption, the conference focuses on the "Trust-Based Relational Intervention" methods as developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. Davis Cross from the TCU Institute of Child Development.
